US support for military aid to Ukraine has risen nearly 20% since May – Reuters

There is growing support among Americans for arms transfers to Ukraine. The results of the Reuters/Ipsos poll show that while in May 2023 only 46% of US citizens rated such actions positively, now their number has increased to 65%.

81% of Democrats, 56% of Republicans and 57% of independent voters supported the transfer of weapons to Ukraine. It is noted that the survey was conducted two days after the rebellion of Yevgeny Prigozhin and PMC Wagner.

Thus, according to Reuters, this poll shows strong support for the decision of US President Joe Biden to "do whatever is necessary" for the victory of Ukraine and the return of all territories occupied by Russia. According to former United States Ambassador to Ukraine William Taylor, these results will also influence GOP leaders in Congress and the Senate, who will be able to more actively support such actions.

The survey was conducted among a sample of 1,004 American adults. Of these, 400 identified themselves as Democrats and 383 as Republicans. According to him, 76% of the country's citizens believe that US assistance to Ukraine shows "the will and ability to defend the interests of the United States, allies and ourselves" against China and other rivals.

The White House approved 41 military assistance packages for the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the amount of about $40 billion. The allocation of the next package in the amount of $500 million became known on June 27. It will primarily include heavy armored vehicles and missiles for air defense systems.
