“Important stories”: Russian volunteers for the war are trained on the money of the Chechen oligarch Movsadi Alviyev

The Russian University of Special Forces in Gudermes, one of Russia's main recruiting centers for soldiers for the war, is funded by the Chechen oligarch and fellow villager of Ramzan Kadyrov, Movsadi Alviyev, Important Stories found out .

Investigators examined the university's banking data from early 2022 to spring 2023. During this time, the institution spent on salaries, rent and equipment 980 million rubles. Of this amount, the university earned 260 million from the training of security guards from Gazprom, Russian Railways, Tatneft and the Russian Union of Martial Arts, which, among others, is led by Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration Sergey Kiriyenko and Deputy Prime Minister Yury Trutnev. Another 460 million rubles came to Kadyrov University from the Chechen JSC "Republican Management Company" through a chain of companies that are associated with the developer Movsadi Alviyev.

Alviyev is one of the sponsors of the Foundation. Akhmad Kadyrov. He owns, in particular, skyscrapers in the center of Grozny, Gudermes, Argun and Shali, as well as an autodrome, a medical center, garbage and telecommunications companies. Since 2011, companies associated with Alviyev have received state contracts for at least 20 billion rubles.
