A man opened fire at the airport in the capital of Moldova, Chisinau. According to NewsMaker, the President of the Republic, Maia Sandu, said that a foreigner who opened fire shot dead a border police officer and an airport security officer. The President expressed condolences to the families and friends of the victims. She noted that state institutions have been put on high alert, police and law enforcement agencies have been mobilized throughout the country.

Special forces arrived at the scene and detained the shooter. The prosecutor's office of Moldova opened a case on the attack.

According to the Rybar Telegram channel, a foreigner snatched a weapon from a border guard officer and shot him, after which he started shooting. Referring to local media, the channel also writes that the shooter is an employee of the PMC Wagner, who flew from Turkey to Moldova. This information has not been officially confirmed.
