More than 660 protesters have been arrested in France. Pogroms erupted after police murder of teen continues into third night

In France, the third day continues mass protests caused by the death of a 17-year-old boy shot dead by police. On the night of April 30, violent clashes between protesters and the police took place in Paris and the suburbs, Toulouse, Marseille, Lyon, Lille and other cities. According to France 24, the country's Interior Ministry reported on the arrest of 667 people. The authorities took 40,000 police officers to the streets.

Protesters attacked many public buildings. So, in the city of Pau in southwestern France, a crowd threw Molotov cocktails at a police station, in Lille they set fire to the building of a junior school, and in Marseille they smashed a library. From other cities there are reports of fires and looted shops. President Francois Macron interrupted a trip to Brussels for an EU summit.

17-year-old youth Nael M., allegedly of Algerian origin, was killed on June 27 in the Parisian suburb of Nanterre. The yellow Mercedes he was driving was stopped by the police. When the driver tried to escape, one of the policemen shot at him. The police officer was arrested and charged with manslaughter.
