PSG head coach Galtier arrested on charges of discrimination and racism

Paris Saint-Germain head coach Christophe Galtier and his son John Valovich have been detained by police in Nice. It is reported by Le Parisien.

The two men have been in custody since 8:45 am at the Auvar police station, Nice-Matin reports. Police are investigating "discrimination at work based on perceived race or religion." We are talking about statements made in 2021, then Galtier coached the Nice team.

Earlier media reported that Galtier's scandalous statements were associated with black players, as well as with Muslim players. The coach himself denies all accusations.

Earlier sports media wrote that the French coach would leave the club. The 56-year-old took charge of the Parisian team in the summer of 2022, leading them to the title and the French Super Cup. However, in the 1/8 finals of the Champions League, PSG flew out from Bayern, failing to win the coveted trophy.
