Russian hockey player detained in Poland on charges of espionage

The Russian hockey player was detained in Poland on charges of espionage, said Polish Prosecutor General Zbigniew Zebro. His statement is quoted by Russian state media. The athlete's name has not been released.

According to Zebro, the detained Russian played in the hockey club of the first league. “This is already the 14th detained member of the spy network we uncovered,” the prosecutor general said.

The Polish side claims that the Russian "carried out assigned tasks on Polish territory, among other things, to identify critical infrastructure in several voivodeships."
