A citizen of Tajikistan who killed two people at the airport in Chisinau is wanted in his homeland for kidnapping a banker

A citizen of Tajikistan, who opened fire at the airport in Chisinau the night before, is wanted in his homeland in the case of the kidnapping of a banker. This was reported by the Prosecutor General's Office of Tajikistan, also specifying the personal data of the suspect: Ashurov Rustam Karimovich, born in 1980.

According to the report, on June 23, a criminal group kidnapped Shukhrat Ismatulloev, the first deputy chairman of the Orienbank, in Dushanbe. The investigation believes that Ashurov, who tried to leave for the EU through Turkey and Moldova, was involved in the crime.

The report of the Prosecutor General's Office specifies that during the arrest at the airport of Moldova, Ashurov was wounded.

The man flew to Chisinau from Turkey, but he was denied entry to Moldova. Then he grabbed a weapon from a border guard, shot two people, took hostages and barricaded himself in one of the airport premises. Ashurov was detained by special forces who arrived at the scene. A criminal case has been opened on the attack.

As a result of the shooting, a border guard and an airport employee were killed.
