In Chuvashia, on July 1, the prosecutor of the republic Andrei Fomin died, reports Baza. According to the Telegram channel, he drowned while taking part in the Chebswim swim.
Presumably, Fomin became ill during the swim. Rescuers pulled the man out of the water and handed him over to the doctors, but they could not save him.
Fomin was 57 years old. He has headed the prosecutor's office of Chuvashia since April 2020.
According to the data from the Chebswim website, the competitions are held on the Volga, anyone can take part in them. Participants are invited to choose one of two options: a one-way swim (2200 m) or both (4400 m).
