Ukraine has imposed sanctions against Georgian Airways. Earlier, the Georgian carrier resumed flights to Russia

Ukraine has adopted a new package of sanctions. In accordance with the decree, which President Volodymyr Zelensky signed on July 1, 193 individuals and 291 legal entities are included in the sanctions lists. Basically, these are citizens and companies from Russia.

The Georgian airline Georgian Airways was also on the list, sanctions were imposed on it for 10 years. According to the decree, the measures taken against the carrier include the freezing of assets, as well as a complete ban on flights on the territory of Ukraine.

The new sanctions list also includes companies from Belarus and Kazakhstan.

Georgian Airways has resumed flights to Russia since May 20. Shortly before this, Vladimir Putin abolished the visa regime for citizens of Georgia and allowed the resumption of direct flights with this country, which were terminated in 2019. The Georgian government also allowed flights to resume, which drew criticism from the country's president and the opposition.
