SOTA: Against a musician from Vladivostok, five criminal cases were opened at once for “discrediting the army”

Against the musician Sergey Tokhteev from Vladivostok, five criminal cases were opened for repeated "discrediting the army", writes SOTA. On June 28, the Primorsky Court appointed him a psychiatric examination in a hospital, where he must spend a month.

Friends of the man say that cases were opened in February for writing anti-war posts on social networks. Then security forces broke into Tokhteev's apartment, confiscated his equipment, beat him and tortured him with a stun gun.

He himself claims that he does not know why five criminal cases were brought against him. The first time he was fined for "discrediting the army" in 2022 under an administrative article. According to him, then he published “very tough” posts, but then he began to speak more softly, while not leaving the anti-war position.

In May, Tokhteev underwent an outpatient psychiatric examination. As stated in the court order, doctors found "signs of a mental disorder" in him, which explains the need for an examination in a hospital. On July 3, Tokhteev will be placed in the regional psychiatric hospital in Ussuriysk.

On June 16, Viktor Moskalev, an employee of the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology who is accused of spreading "fake news" about the Russian army, was sent for compulsory psychiatric treatment. Forensic experts recognized him as insane for the words "I'm telling the truth" and "in a year or two I will come out a hero." The Babushkinsky District Court of Moscow ruled to transfer him to an "organization providing psychiatric care."
