Babich himself does not shine in the media, but persons associated with him occupy the highest positions in the Ministry of Defense. Among them, for example, is Deputy Minister Yunus-Bek Yevkurov, the same one with whom Prigozhin had dramatic talks in Rostov. Yevkurov Babich calls "dear friend and brother." They could get acquainted when the commander of the Airborne Forces in the early 2000s Georgy Shpak recommended Yevkurov as an assistant to Babich, who in 2002 headed the government of the Chechen Republic. Even Yevkurov and Babich at the same time studied in Ryazan, however, in different military educational institutions: Yevkurov – at the Airborne Forces School, Babich – at the Higher Command School of Communications. And Yevkurov wrote about Babich that "from the time of being a lieutenant" they "served together, carried out combat missions, in the most difficult times they always supported each other."

They celebrated the New Year 2022 in the elite restaurant Podmoskovnye Vechera in the company of Dmitry Peskov and Margarita Simonyan. Before that, Vladimir Putin appointed Babich to control the export of Russian weapons and awarded him the rank of major general.
Babich's chaotic career, when he is repeatedly looking for a decent place in completely different departments, even gave rise to a version of Putin's special moral debt to him. Allegedly, Babich's father was a colleague (and boss) of Putin in the Dresden KGB residency.
Blat and sister
There was a career and the sister of Mikhail Babich, Alla Polyakova. Two years ago, she became a State Duma deputy, having gone through the lists of United Russia.
Her declaration includes a house with an area of 939 m². The Insider found it: the building built in 2020 is located in the most elite cottage settlement "Razdory-2".
Together with a plot of 19 acres, such an estate on Rublevka can cost up to a billion rubles. Only lives in it, it seems, not Babich's sister (or not only her), but he himself. Babich's 16-year-old daughter Maria orders food delivery to the address of the mansion, and Oleg Slobodyan, whose number is recorded by acquaintances as "Babich's assistant", was in charge of registering the Filipino governess in this house.
Alla Polyakova herself lives in the more modest Odintsovo village "Lesnoy Gorodok" and in the Moscow LCD "House on the Embankment". Her apartment (123.8 m²) costs 84 million.
Babich also uses the property registered to the family company Seton LLC. As follows from the leak of digital passes, he travels in a Porsche Cayenne registered with the company. And his wife Galina receives a salary at Seton.
Seton also owns an impressive (1477.7 m²) business center next to the Prospekt Mira metro station. The market value of this is about 700 million rubles.
Seton also has other expensive cars: a Porsche Macan, three Mercedes-Benz and a BMW X6. The latter is driven by Vadim Novozhilov, Polyakova's husband, who formally acts as the owner of the LLC.
Criminal Driver
At the same time, Novozhilov himself has his own driver – Konstantin Savin, The Insider found out (he parked the aforementioned BMW, and his acquaintances are recorded as "Kostya, Vadim's driver"). On Savin, the Babich family fictitiously issued several companies at once that received contracts from law enforcement agencies, for example, Prioksky Combine LLC (manufacturer of army dry rations).
The plant's subsidiary, Fabrika LLC, supplied, until it was liquidated in 2021, uniforms and towels of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the FSO.
Savin also became the owner of Osnova LLC in 2019, Novozhilov rewrote the company to him. The company acted as a contractor for the FSB, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Defense: it supplied shorts, underpants, T-shirts, socks, chokes and first aid kits.
There is an irony in the fact that, having become the formal owner of the company – the contractor of the military and security forces, the driver Savin had several criminal cases behind him. In 2015, he was tried for theft, but the case was closed due to the reconciliation of the parties. He was also suspected of selling drugs.
Classmate from Ryazan
The Insider found several more "nominals" of Babich. Oleg Lvov is the owner of the enterprise for the production of dry rations "Arttorg" and the general director of the construction company LLC "Style-1", which, by order of the Ministry of Defense, built residential buildings for officers and military camps. Also, "Style-1" is a contractor for the Capital Repair Fund near Moscow. The total amount spent on government contracts exceeds 11 billion rubles.
Lvov, on the other hand, was a member of the board of directors of the Krasnye Tkachi enterprise, which was liquidated a few years ago. Its owners were hiding behind the offshore Fors Investment Venchur and Livraco Trading, which are affiliated with Babich – they acted as the founders of the Seton family company. The factory "Red weavers" earned more than 200 million on the supply of the Ministry of Defense, the Federal Security Service, the Federal Security Service and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of military overalls, tents, bed linen and … again underpants.
Lvov, as established by The Insider, is a longtime friend of Babich: he graduated from the Ryazan School of Communications in 1990. So they were classmates. In the phone books, he is listed as "head of security" and "from Babich."
According to The Insider sources with access to the accounting department of Seton, it lends to the construction company ITRKS, which, apparently, is affiliated with the Babich family business: in the contacts of acquaintances, its founder is listed as "Alexey Grachev Style-1". On its website, ITRKS reports:
“[The company] implemented 4 projects for the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. The format of work is "turnkey": from the collection of executive permits for construction to commissioning and receipt of final acts. The total amount of implemented “defense” projects is 3 billion rubles.”
mom and penthouse
Personal property, in addition to his sister, Babich prefers to write down on his mother. Zhanna Babich owns a two-story penthouse (522.6 m²) in the Dominion residential complex on Lomonosovsky Prospekt. It costs more than 500 million rubles. The general's mother also owns a 145-meter apartment in the residential complex "Valovaya 20" (90 million rubles). The total value of the property of Babich's relatives, according to The Insider, exceeds 2.5 billion rubles.
In 2012, Babich became a member of the Security Council of the Russian Federation and remained a member until 2018. At the same time, the heads of all law enforcement agencies of the country were there. Using these working connections, Babich can lobby for the interests of close business.
