An explosion occurred in the building of the Shevchenko district court in Kyiv. This is reported by the representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Maryana Reva, as well as the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Igor Klymenko, who confirmed that there was an “emergency incident” in the courthouse and the police received a message about the explosion.

According to the Kyiv military administration, the explosion occurred in the toilet of the court. Editions RBC-Ukraine and " Strana " write that the explosion was arranged by a fighter of the volunteer battalion "Sich" Igor Gumenyuk. According to Ukrainian media, he locked himself in a toilet with two guards and set off an explosion. A court session was scheduled for today to extend the preventive measure for Gumenyuk, who is being held in a pre-trial detention center.

Gumenyuk is accused of committing a terrorist attack – in 2015, according to investigators, he threw a grenade at the National Guard officers. Three National Guardsmen were killed, about 140 more people were injured. At that time, Interior Minister Arsen Avakov stated that it was Gumenyuk who threw the grenade. The minister claimed that under Gumenyuk they found a grenade and a pin from another grenade. Igor Gumenyuk did not admit his guilt.
