Sergei Mikhailov, director general of the TASS news agency, was relieved of his post at his own request. Andrey Kondrashov will take his place. The corresponding order was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin. Mikhailov has held this post since 2012.
Kondrashov was a correspondent for the All-Russian State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company in Central Asia, covered the work of the State Duma, was a member of the Kremlin pool, hosted the Vesti and Vesti Nedeli programs. In 2018, he became Deputy General Director of the All-Russian State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company.
He is also known as the author of a two-part documentary film about Vladimir Putin based on exclusive interviews and released in 2018 before the presidential elections.
Kondrashov starred in the documentary films "Berezovsky" in 2012, "Crimea. Way to the Motherland" in 2015 (and was a director).
