The Novaya Gazeta journalist was examined in Moscow. Doctors made several diagnoses: a closed craniocerebral injury, multiple fractures of the bones of the hands (up to 14), multiple soft tissue bruises, writes Novaya Gazeta. Milashina's consciousness is clear, her condition is stable, the publication says.

Previously, Milashina was examined in a Chechen hospital, and then in Beslan. At first, doctors saw fractures of the bones of the hands in the pictures, but in Beslan, doctors did not confirm these conclusions. A survey in Moscow nevertheless showed numerous fractures.

Milashina and lawyer Alexander Nemov were attacked on July 4 in Chechnya. Masked men attacked them near the airport, the journalist and the lawyer were on their way to a meeting on the case of Zarema Musayeva. The attackers stopped the car in which the journalist and the lawyer were traveling from the airport to Grozny, severely beat them and destroyed their equipment and documents.

According to Milashina, she was forced to eat earth while she lay face down, beaten with polypropylene pipes, and tried to break her fingers when she refused to unlock her phone.
