The Basmanny Court of Moscow sentenced PR manager Inna Churilova to four years probation in a case of extortion from Promsvyazbank top manager Alexander Ushakov. The woman fully admitted her guilt, her case was separated into a separate proceeding.
In August last year, three administrators of the Infernal Grandmas Telegram channel, dedicated to financial topics, were arrested in Moscow: Alexandra Bayazitova, a former Kommersant, Izvestia and Life journalist, Olga Arkharova, a media technologist, and Inna Churilov, a PR person. According to investigators, they extorted money from the management of Promsvyazbank, threatening otherwise to publish negative information about the bank.
Bayazitova, after being detained, stated that she was being persecuted for a text about embezzlement at Promsvyazbank. “This is a bank through which the state defense order is financed. In my note, I proved that the bank's management was involved in the theft of money allocated for the defense industry, ”said the journalist.
