Russian athletes at the Pan Arab Games were declared as athletes from Syria. They changed their names and dates of birth

Russian athletes are declared as athletes from Syria at the Pan Arab Games, which are held in Algiers. This was announced in his Telegram channel by journalist Sergei Lisin.

The lists from Syria included, in particular, judoka Milana Mugu (Milana Mrad) and artistic gymnast Alexandra Maksimova. The names and dates of birth of the following athletes have been changed in their applications: badminton player Daria Dzhedzhula, cyclist Tatiana and Daria Malkov, track and field athlete Karina Poludkina and swimmer Anastasia Sorokina.

Meanwhile, TASS, citing the head coach of the Russian athletics team Ruslan Mashchenko, reports that Karina Poludkina was not among the participants in the javelin throwing competition, since at that time she was performing in Yekaterinburg at the country's junior championship, where she won a bronze medal. The All-Russian Athletics Federation (VFLA) promised to find out how Poludkina got into the application of the Syrian national team.

Russian athletes are looking for ways to participate in international competitions where they are not allowed or allowed with restrictions due to Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Earlier it became known that already 17 athletes decided to compete from other countries. Some already had a second passport.
