An Israeli citizen was detained at Moscow’s Vnukovo airport. She came to her mother’s funeral

Israeli citizen Nadezhda Andreyeva (Katsir) was detained at Vnukovo airport on July 5, who came to Russia for the funeral of her mother, who tragically died in an accident in Yakutia, Israeli radio station Best Radio reports . She collaborated with an organization recognized in Russia as "undesirable".

Andreeva, judging by her social networks, has been living in Israel since 2017 and works at the University of Haifa. From 2007 to 2009, according to her LinkedIn profile , she collaborated with the American National Democratic Institute for International Affairs (NDIFIA), which Russia recognized as an "undesirable organization."

Before the arrest, Andreeva managed to call a friend and ask for help, after which her phone became unavailable. For two days, her relatives and friends had no information about her whereabouts. She was not on the flight for which she had bought a ticket.

On June 7, the Israeli embassy in Russia reported that they knew Andreeva's whereabouts. According to the press attache of the diplomatic mission, Rami Teplitsky, the diplomats are now trying to resolve her issue, but they cannot provide details of what is happening due to confidentiality reasons.
