The court closed the extortion case against the head of Rostec Sergey Chemezov

The Khamovnichesky District Court of Moscow closed the trial in the case of ex-commercial director Ksenia Sobchak Kirill Sukhanov, ex-editor-in-chief of Tatler magazine Arian Romanovsky (Kuzmin) and journalist Tamerlan Bigaev, who are accused of extorting the head of Rostec Sergey Chemezov. It is reported by RIA Novosti.

Baza clarifies that the injured party asked to close the process. Representatives of Chemezov said that during the process they would interview Rostec employees and "the attention of the press is useless." Also, according to representatives of Chemezov, journalists who write about the case mention a situation that the head of Rostec does not like.

The court arrested the commercial director of Ksenia Sobchak, Kirill Sukhanov, and the former editor-in-chief of Tatler, Arian Romanovsky, at the end of October. The victim is the head of Rostec Sergey Chemezov. According to investigators, the defendants extorted 11 million rubles from the victim, in return promising not to post negative posts about him on the “Extinguish the Light” Telegram channel (the channel has not been updated since October 24). At the trial, it turned out that Chemezov personally wrote a statement to the police. After Sukhanov was detained, the owner of the Telegram channel, Ksenia Sobchak, left Russia. On October 26, her country house was searched. RT, citing its own source, claimed that she was being accused, but later this information was denied.

In December 2022, the Project claimed that Vasily Brovko, Director of Special Assignments of Rostec, was behind the mass detentions of the owners of Telegram channels in Russia. The journalists found out that it was he who convinced Chemezov that it was necessary to take the Telegram channels “under control”. At the same time, among the detainees were not only critics of Rostec, but also employees of the channels of Ksenia Sobchak, who for many years has been in public conflict with the host Tina Kandelaki, Brovko's wife. Sources of the "Project" said that Brovko and his wife in this way "can settle scores" with Sobchak.
