The authorities of the Oryol region intend to create units of territorial defense. Governor Andrei Klychkov announced this.
“We are not a border region, we are on high alert, but at the same time we know what is happening in the Kursk, Bryansk, Belgorod, Voronezh regions. There is a proposal to get together and organize a civilian rear in order to prepare, go through the basics of medical and tactical training, and learn how to use weapons. I hope this will not be useful to us, but we need to be definitely ready for this, ”said Klychkov.
In the near future, the governor promises to hold a meeting with the "power bloc", where he will give instructions on organizing the landfill. After that, everyone will be able to learn the basics of combat training, the government said.
Terodefense detachments began to form in the Belgorod region in early December. The local governor, Vyacheslav Gladkov, then stated that they accept citizens who, due to their state of health or age, cannot be drafted into the army, but at the same time have combat experience and “a great desire, if necessary, to defend their home and their families ". In July, the head of Gladkov announced that they were going to distribute weapons to the participants in the defense and recruit another three thousand people to this unit.
