The government canceled automatic credit holidays for mobilized two weeks after their introduction

The Russian government canceled its own resolution two weeks ago (dated June 30) on the need for the Federal Tax Service (FTS) to transfer data to bailiffs about mobilized Russians, and automatically provide them with credit holidays. The document was published on the official Internet portal of legal information.

Now the mobilized must continue to pay loans, or otherwise they will be required to bring the relevant certificates to the bailiffs themselves. According to the previously adopted bill, the Federal Tax Service was supposed to share with bailiffs information that the debtor was mobilized and he was required to provide credit holidays.

In April, the State Duma voted to extend credit holidays until the end of the year for participants in the war with Ukraine, and also adopted a bill on electronic "notifications" (summons) and new measures of responsibility for "avoiding" conscripts.

In 2022, bank customers massively complained about refusals to provide credit holidays to the mobilized. As Kommersant wrote, dozens of clients of Sberbank, VTB, Tinkoff Bank, Alfa Bank, etc. faced similar situations. In September 2022, after Vladimir Putin announced a “partial” mobilization in Russia, a draft law on writing off loan debt in the event of the death of the mobilized.
