Employees of the FSB and the Investigative Committee claim that they prevented the Ukrainian special services from preparing the murder of propagandist Margarita Simonyan and TV presenter Ksenia Sobchak.
According to the intelligence service, members of the Paragraph-88 group, who were following Simonyan and Sobchak, were detained in Moscow and the Ryazan region in this case. The FSB said that the detainees had already confessed to plotting the assassination "on the instructions of the SBU" for a reward of 1.5 million rubles "for each murder."
In April 2022, the FSB announced that it had prevented an assassination attempt on Vladimir Solovyov and several other propagandists and propagandists. Then the court arrested six suspects in planning the murders.
