Moscow court arrests seven suspects in plotting assassination attempt on Sobchak and Simonyan

A court in Moscow has arrested seven people suspected of preparing an assassination attempt on Margarita Simonyan and Ksenia Sobchak, TASS reports. At the same time, according to RIA Novosti, six suspects were arrested. At the same time, both state media write that the decision was made by the Basmanny Court of Moscow. Mediazona, citing the press service of the court, writes that seven suspects have been arrested.

Four of those arrested are minors born in 2005 and 2006, another was a minor at the time of the crime, Mediazone explained in court. The other two arrested are 18-year-old Mikhail Balashov and 22-year-old Yegor Savelyev.

The publication reports that the suspects "as part of an organized group of hooligan motives, motivated by national hatred, attacked foreign citizens with particular cynicism and audacity."

Earlier, employees of the FSB and the Investigative Committee said that they had prevented the Ukrainian special services from preparing the murder of propagandist Margarita Simonyan and TV presenter Ksenia Sobchak. According to the intelligence service, members of the Paragraph-88 group, allegedly following both, were detained in Moscow and the Ryazan region in this case.
