The family of another deceased – Artem Nechaev from the city of Gremyachinsk in the Perm Territory, who died three weeks after the start of the war – received compensation from the state in the amount of 12.4 million rubles. However, they did not have time to spend the money, scammers stole it from their mother's account. Nechaeva received a call allegedly on behalf of the "Security Service of the Central Bank", and she sent the entire amount of compensation to the attackers in small transfers, and then took out a loan for 1.5 million rubles. Now the family has to pay off debts.
On July 12, 32-year-old special forces soldier Sergey Rzhavin also died while on duty in Ukraine, he left behind a wife, a seven-year-old daughter and a five-year-old son. The family received compensation of 3 million rubles, and the major's parents decided that with this money they needed to buy an apartment for their grandchildren.
The wife of Viktor Mnogohreshnov, who was blown up by a mine on June 11 in Ukraine, says that they have two children left. Since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, the Ministry of Defense has twice reported on the death of Russian servicemen – according to the latest data, 1,351 servicemen have died. At the same time, on May 30, the BBC Russian Service found out the names of 3,052 Russian soldiers who died in the war in Ukraine. The publication clarifies that these are incomplete figures, since the media and regional authorities do not name all the dead, even if their bodies were delivered to their families and buried. After the war, Vladimir Putin signed a decree according to which the family of the deceased would receive an additional 5 million rubles – a total of 12.4 million. Compensation is transferred in equal shares to the parents of the deceased, his wife and children. Also, the relatives of the dead will receive benefits for life: if there are three relatives, they pay 5.2 thousand rubles each, if two – 6.9 thousand rubles each, one relative will receive 10.4 thousand rubles a month.
