The Leninsky District Court of Ufa sentenced Anvar Suleymanov, former goalkeeper of the Salavat Yulaev hockey club, in the case of buying a military ticket, to 5 years of suspended liberty with a probationary period of 4 years.
The hockey player was found guilty under the article "attempt to give a bribe."
Suleimanov's case went to court on June 29, along with the case of another Russian hockey player, Mikhail Vorobyov. A day later, the court received the case of another sportsman – Vladislav Lukin. All of them were accused of giving bribes on a large scale.
According to Mash, questions also arose for 2 more sportsmen (however, it is still unknown about the cases against them): “Presumably, according to the same scheme, the hockey players of the national team Kirill Kaprizov and Ivan Fedotov received their military men.”
In July, the goalkeeper of the Russian national hockey team, Ivan Fedotov, was sent to serve in a military unit, having previously been detained on suspicion of evading the army.
It was reported that the hockey player would serve in Severodvinsk until September, after which a decision would be made on his future duty station. Presumably, one of the military units located on Novaya Zemlya in the Arctic Ocean can become one.
Ivan Fedotov is the silver medalist of the 2022 Olympic Games in Beijing as part of the Russian team and the winner of the Gagarin Cup at the end of the 2021-2022 season.
