The head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, promised a reward to those who would kill the chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ichkeria in exile, Akhmed Zakayev. He wrote about this in his Telegram channel.
Kadyrov recorded a video in which he offered to Chechens living outside of Russia to kill Zakayev in exchange for a pardon and return to Chechnya.
“Zakayev is in the conflict zone. Whoever finds it must destroy it. If you shoot this goat and come home, I will give you freedom and you will be provided for the rest of your life… Any of you can return to Chechnya only on this condition: either you take off your pants from Zakayev, or shoot him in the forehead, ”Kadyrov said ( translated from Chechen "Kavkaz.Realii").
After this video, Kadyrov's adviser, State Duma deputy Adam Delimkhanov made a similar demand: "Young guys, you have to deal with people like Zakayev, and only then will the road home be opened for you."
Immediately after the start of the war, Zakayev, who lives in the UK, offered Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky help in the form of Chechen military personnel living in Europe:
“Before we start our conversation, I want to express my deepest respect to you and my absolute support in what you are doing … If I had any opportunity, I would be next to you. I appeal to President Zelensky to help me get to Kyiv, so that his structures give me the opportunity to arrive there, and I am ready to be with you to the bitter end.”
