Underground gas storage operator Gazprom UGS has begun sending notifications to its employees that they have received a deferment from mobilization. A screenshot of the letter was published by the Telegram channel "Caution, news!".
The letter says that the employee who received it is on a special military record, and in parentheses it is explained that he is “booked”. This entitles him to a deferment from mobilization for a year. The author of the letter is the chief specialist of the special department of Gazprom UGS, his name has been blacked out.
The term "reserved citizens" was previously used by the Ministry of Defense. As lawyer Pavel Chikov explained , these include employees of government bodies and organizations regardless of their form of ownership – for example, those who work on the protection of railway facilities or in the military-industrial complex. There is no public list of organizations that fall under the "booking", as it is intended for official use.
Earlier, Andrey Kostin, the head of VTB Bank, also spoke about the postponement of mobilization for their employees. The Insider received similar information from an employee of Rostelecom – he received a letter of postponement on behalf of the company's president, Mikhail Oseevsky.
Most of the shares of Gazprom, VTB, and Rostelecom are owned by the state.
