The Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs advised its citizens to leave Russia due to the growing tension in the country due to the war and advised them not to go there anytime soon. Earlier, the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry made the same recommendation.
The Polish Foreign Ministry indicates that there is no direct air connection with Russia now, the number of Polish diplomats in the country has been reduced – because of this, problems may arise with the provision of assistance to Polish citizens, in particular, with their evacuation in the event of the closure of Russian borders.
“In the event of a sharp deterioration in the security situation, border closures or other unforeseen circumstances, evacuation may be significantly difficult or even impossible. <…> We recommend that citizens of the Republic of Poland who remain on the territory of the Russian Federation leave it, ”the country’s Foreign Ministry urges.
A little earlier, the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry made the same statement. There, citizens were asked to leave Russia urgently because of the "complicated situation." Those who still remain were advised to avoid crowded places and exercise increased vigilance, closely monitor how the situation develops and stay in touch with the embassy in Moscow and the consulate general in St. Petersburg.
On September 25, Meduza and Khodorkovsky Live, citing sources, reported that Russians of mobilization age could be restricted from leaving the country after the end of the “referendums” in the occupied territories of Ukraine. According to them, they can do this on September 28, the day after the end of the pseudo-voting.
In Russia, because of the “partial” mobilization announced by President Vladimir Putin, protests have already begun in some regions. In Moscow and St. Petersburg, the security forces violently dispersed the protesters, beating people and using stun guns. The most massive actions took place in Dagestan: women took to the streets, whose husbands and sons were called to war. Dagestan suffered the most from Putin's war. The number of dead volunteers there is higher than in other regions.
