The "Council of Mothers and Wives" demanded the return to their main duty station of 400 conscripts, who were sent to the shelling zone in the Belgorod region. The mothers wrote about this in a letter to Russian President Vladimir Putin, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and Governor of the Belgorod Region Vyacheslav Gladkov.
“ 400 conscript soldiers were sent to the Belgorod region to dig trenches. They've been there for a month now. They are constantly shelled, bombs fall on them. The parents of these soldiers applied wherever they could. But no one answers them. Their sons did not undergo military training, they only dug the ground, pulled out grass and walked a little along the parade ground, preparing for the oath. They don't even know how to handle weapons. Putin and Shoigu said that conscripts are not sent to a military special operation. But the lives of these guys are under mortal threat every day. They are being shot at. Or are the statements of these dignitaries just for TV? " , the appeal says.
As follows from the letter, almost all conscripts serving in the village of Mosrentgen near Moscow were sent to the Belgorod Region. The soldiers have been there since 15 September. They did not sign contracts for military service, the document says.
“Soldiers serve for about two or three months and they held weapons in their hands only on the oath. They did not have a single fire training class before the trip. They can't even partially disassemble-assemble an AK-74 or equip a magazine. Consequently, they do not even know how to handle small arms, they do not know the security measures when handling them, they have no idea about the tactics of military operations, not to mention any practical training, including combat coordination of the unit. They did not undergo training in military specialties, although they were already assigned these specialties, simply by voicing who had what specialty.
Since the beginning of the war with Ukraine, the Belgorod region has come under fire more often than other Russian regions. Explosions are heard in the border regions, villages are being shelled.
