The players of the Russian national team, in the absence of a wide choice of opponents in friendly matches, continue the Central Asian tour: after the game with Kyrgyzstan in September (2:1) the team will face Tajikistan today (Dushanbe, beginning at 18.00 Moscow time).
Initially, matches with Iran and Bosnia and Herzegovina were planned for November, but due to various reasons, the opponents had to be changed to Tajikistan and Uzbekistan (November 20).
Head coach Valery Karpin said before the match that the opponent’s game was not analyzed, as the Russian team was going to “play on its own”.
In Dushanbe before the match – a real stir. The head coach of the national team of Tajikistan Petar Shegrt admitted that doctors, taxi drivers and the press officer of the national team turned to him with a request to play in the match against the Russians.
