One of the symbols of the Ukrainian army – the dog Patron – became the first dog “goodwill ambassador”
About the assignment of the Jack Russell Terrier named Patron the status of “goodwill dog” (Goodwill AmbassaDog) reports UNICEF Ukraine. Patron, according to the organization’s tweet, will help educate children about mine danger and work to provide them with psychological support.
In the usual sense, a “goodwill ambassador” is a person who uses his reputation and popularity for good purposes.
The cartridge, we recall, is part of the sapper detachment of the Chernihiv region, where, after the retreat of the Russian troops, it searches for the remaining mines (as of May 2022 alone, the dog found 236 explosive devices). In May, Patron received a special prize at Cannes for strengthening the bond between humanity and dogs.
