Ksenia Sobchak’s commercial director Kirill Sukhanov and journalist Arian Romanovsky were left in jail.
Sukhanov partially admitted his guilt and said he was ready to cooperate with the investigation. His lawyers have compiled an impressive list of positive references, including from Andrey Malakhov and the company of restaurateur Arkady Novikov, and relatives have prepared more than 10 million rubles for bail. However, despite all the arguments and the amount of defense, the court decided to leave Sukhanov in a pre-trial detention center.
Arian Romanovsky pleaded not guilty. He stated that he did not publish any defamatory information, and wrote only one sentence about Chemezov. The TsUM trading house and the Conde Nast publishing house stood up for Romanovsky, but the letters of recommendation were not enough for the journalist to be released from the pre-trial detention center. He will meet the New Year there.
Romanovsky, Sukhanov, and Tamerlan Bigaev are suspected of extortion from the head of Rostec, Sergei Chemezov. According to the investigation, they extorted 11 million rubles for deleting a post in the telegram channel. According to the defense, Romanovsky and Bigaev were the administrators of the Turn off the Light channel and only carried out the tasks of the owner of the channel, Ksenia Sobchak – this is evidenced by the agreements that she concluded with journalists.
