The military garrison court in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky sentenced serviceman Aleksey Breusov to 2.8 years in a colony-settlement for failure to comply with an order in wartime and refusing to participate in hostilities.
As stated in the case file, in October, Breusov, "being in the military investigation department of the Investigative Committee for the Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky garrison <…> realizing the mobilization announced in Russia, not wanting to participate in hostilities, refused to participate in hostilities."
Breusov was found guilty under the new part of Article 332 of the Criminal Code, which was introduced into the Criminal Code in September in a package of "mobilization" amendments. The defendant has already filed an appeal against the court's decision.
In October, a case under the same part of Article 332 of the Criminal Code was brought against 27-year-old senior lieutenant Dmitry Vasilts, who served in the Murmansk region.
Earlier today, eight mobilized arbitrarily left a military unit in the Lugansk region and surrendered to the police in the Moscow region.
