US State Department adviser Derek Cholle said the US is working to put an end to Wagner PMC activities around the world. Writes about it Associated Press.
Cholle said the United States is seriously concerned about militants recruiting new people in Serbia and elsewhere in the world. He voiced his concerns during talks with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic on January 12 in Belgrade.
“I don’t know if there are concerns in Serbia, but if we are talking about ours, we look forward to working with the government here in Belgrade and in other places where the Wagner PMC is active to put an end to their activities,” he said. Cholle, also urging Serbia to join the sanctions against Wagner PMCs.
Earlier, Politico wrote that Wagner PMC is increasing its activity in countries in the Central African Republic, Mali and Serbia. According to the publication, the Russian authorities use the militants to fight anti-Putin sentiment and protect Russia's interests in the mining industry.
