In the Arkhangelsk region, before the arrival of Vladimir Putin, journalists from the publication 29.RU were detained. They came to write a report about the president's visit to the Oktyabrsky settlement in the Ustyansky district. Correspondents Yaroslav Varenik and Anton Danilov arrived by taxi to the ULK timber industry enterprise, where Putin is to arrive. They were immediately detained by people in uniform and taken to the department.
The journalists told the publication that the dissatisfaction of law enforcement officers was most likely caused by the fact that they were able to drive up to the enterprise by taxi, while the territory should be blocked. According to them, a certain "general" approached the traffic police officer and asked how it was generally allowed that someone could come to the terminal by taxi.
“It is possible that the detention is due to the fact that we took a taxi to the ULC to see how the main enterprise of the village and the entire region looks from the outside. The taxi driver dropped us right at the terminal. Among all those who officially came to the upcoming event. For two or three minutes we stood and counted a trifle to pay off the driver – and even then everyone was looking at us. He left, and we were accepted almost immediately,” Danilov said.
“They just brought us, put us on a bench, said that we “should be dealt with,” Varenik said in a conversation with Sota. According to Danilov, the people who detained them did not introduce themselves or show their documents. Varenyk told 29.RU that the police station had taken away his pepper spray and his press card.
On February 10, Putin will go on a working trip to the Ustyansky district and visit a local timber industry enterprise.
