The Kuibyshevsky District Court of St. Petersburg arrested Tigran Khachikyan for two months, who on February 24 fired at an OMON officer with a sawn-off shotgun. This happened at the entrance to the Gostiny Dvor metro station in St. Petersburg. The arrest is reported by the joint press service of the city courts. Photographs from the courtroom show multiple abrasions and bruises on the face of 50-year-old Khachikyan. The investigation claims that during the arrest he was stopped by a bandwagon, because of which he "fell, receiving bruises."
The man is accused of encroachment on the life of a law enforcement officer (Article 317 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). In addition to two shots at the security official, Khachikyan is charged with supporting the views of the “extremist group Artpodgotovka” and the possibility of involvement in “other crimes against the authorities.” He faces up to life in prison. Khachikyan pleaded guilty only partially, saying that he only planned to damage the riot police car, and not to shoot the service officer, 43-year-old Nikolai Sus. He was shot in the stomach and is now in critical condition.
Fontanka wrote that during the arrest, Khachikyan was found to have a “pair of sawn-off shotguns” registered to him, two Molotov cocktails and a music column. From it, the man allegedly listened to the song "Get up, the country is huge" during the shooting.
