Andrei Kholodov, a member of the “gang of false policemen” known for a series of murders, kidnappings and robberies committed in the late 2000s, was buried on the Walk of Fame in Tyumen. The “gang of false policemen” was created in 1998 by Vitaly Yambykh. In addition to him and Kholodov, there were several other people in the gang. They used fake police IDs to commit the crime. In total, they have 33 crimes, including three murders. In 2002, gang members shot dead the chairman of the Lenin Way collective farm, and in March 2003, a married couple. The “false policemen” also tortured their victims with electric current and a red-hot iron.
Kholodov and other gang members were caught in 2004. In 2008, he was sentenced to 25 years in prison. Yambykh was sentenced to life imprisonment and sent to the Black Dolphin colony.
