The FSB announced the prevention of an assassination attempt on the entrepreneur and founder of the Tsargrad TV channel Konstantin Malofeev. According to the security forces, it was prepared by Denis Kapustin, the commander of the Russian Volunteer Corps and a participant in the attack on the Bryansk region. It is reported by Interfax.
They allegedly wanted to blow up Malofeev in a car using a bomb attached under the car. Earlier, the car of the daughter of the philosopher-propagandist Alexander Dugin, Daria, was blown up in this way. She died. The FSB claimed that the perpetrators of the assassination were people associated with the "Right Sector".
The Telegram channels also publish two videos distributed by the FSB, in one of which a masked man puts something under the bottom of a car on the street, and in the other, a sapper robot defuses a car in a closed garage. It is alleged that this is Malofeev's car.
"Thank God, I'm fine. No harm done. I hope those responsible for the murder of Dasha Dugina will finally be revealed and arrested. Thanks to all my friends for the words of support. I want to assure you that neither today nor tomorrow nothing – neither threats nor terrorist attacks – will affect my ardent and sincere patriotic position, ”Malofeev himself wrote in his Telegram channel.
Malofeev has been under US, Canadian and EU sanctions since 2014 for funding the Russian invasion of Ukraine and ties to the Kremlin.
According to TASS with reference to the FSB, in August 2022 Kapustin was also preparing to blow up an oil pipeline in the Volgograd region. Security forces claim that the attack was prevented. As they say in the message of the special services, two Russians Keiner and Ushkov, connected with Kapustin, were killed during the arrest. They allegedly were supporters of the right-wing organizations White Rex, Restrukt, Thor Steiner and Karpatskaya Sich.
The "Russian Volunteer Corps" claimed responsibility for the attack on the Bryansk region on March 2. The RDK fighters recorded a video from the village of Lyubechany, including the presence of Denis Nikitin (real name Kapustin), known among ultra-right nationalists under the nickname Denis White Rex, he is the commander of the Russian Volunteer Corps. Oppositionist, former State Duma deputy Ilya Ponomarev confirmed earlier to The Insider that Kapustin did take part in the operation.
