Roskomnadzor blocked the largest international site with fanfiction Archive of Our Own. This was done after a complaint from a Ukrainian woman who wanted the site to be free of Russian-speaking users. At the same time, the RKN praised the girl for her activity.
A Ukrainian woman complained about a fanfic about suicide published on Archive of Our Own. This happened in December 2022. Then the RKN thanked her for her “active citizenship” and a few months later completely blocked access to the site in Russia. The girl published screenshots of the correspondence with the regulator on her Twitter.
