A train and aircraft of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia, including a Mi-8 helicopter, were involved in extinguishing the fire. The agency released a video from the fire helicopter.
According to the Ni Mash portal, the building where liquids with a solvent were stored at the chemical enterprise burned out completely, the flame spread to the neighboring KhimAvto, and two buildings of the enterprise burned down at once. While extinguishing the building, at least one firefighter was injured, who did not notice the pit with hot bitumen and fell through. He has facial burns. An ambulance brigade and two teams of the regional center for disaster medicine arrived at the scene of the fire.
Employees of Rospotrebnadzor also arrived at the scene of the fire to take air samples, according to the portal NN.RU. The source of the publication claims that inside the warehouse there are combustible materials that are difficult to extinguish, and when burned, they emit toxic substances, there is also kerosene and containers with other flammable liquids in the building.
On behalf of the regional governor, a mobile control post was deployed near the industrial zone. The deputy governor Pyotr Bannikov and the head of Dzerzhinsk Ivan Noskov arrived at the scene of the fire. There is a threat that the fire will spread to neighboring buildings, the Ministry of Emergency Situations in the Nizhny Novgorod region noted.
