At least one person was killed and five were injured in a rocket attack on the city of Rehovot, located 20 km from Tel Aviv. The missile hit a residential high-rise building. The central and southern regions of Israel were shelled, in particular, two rockets fell in the city of Sderot.
Israeli TV channel i24NEWS reported , citing a source in the Palestinian Islamic Jihad group, that Iranian-made Boraq 85 missiles were used in the shelling of Rehovot.
The Mujahideen Brigades said that on May 11, two of its members were killed when Israeli forces shelled a Gaza suburb. The Palestinian Ministry of Health also reported two wounded.
The Israel Defense Forces said that as part of the crackdown on Islamic Jihad, a tunnel dug up to the fortification system separating Israel from Gaza was bombed.
The next escalation in the region began on May 9, when Israeli forces launched an airstrike in Gaza, killing three members of the Islamic Jihad, including the group's rocket commander, Ali Ghali. In total, at least 24 Palestinians were killed in the three days of shelling.
