Director of the Anti-Corruption Foundation Ivan Zhdanov said that his father, Yuri Zhdanov, who is serving a term in a colony, was planted with a blade, for which he now faces a penalty.
“A father in the colony was put in a pillowcase with a blade, in the prison slang “wash”. He found this sink himself, fortunately. And immediately threw it away. The one who planted this sink, of course, did not think that the father would find this crap himself and throw it away. But imagine, a report on the discovery of the blade has already been drawn up. Only there is no blade. But does the scoundrels care? Now they are taking explanations from the father and they will impose a penalty. He treats this, as usual, philosophically. But what scoundrels and scum," said Zhdanov.
Zhdanov Sr. was formally convicted of fraud: he recommended the head of the village to provide a local resident with an apartment under a social contract, and later it became known that this family had already received a housing subsidy. In fact, the persecution is related to his son's activities. Here is what Zhdanov said in his last speech before the verdict:
“Ivan remains my son. I do not intend to renounce it, no matter what it threatens me with. Knowing my son, I can say that even the most severe sentence – no matter how cruel they were, remembering the 30s – no one will force him to shut up, stop saying what he thinks. Everything will be exactly the opposite.”
