On June 30, the Barnaul garrison military court sentenced two servicemen to 5 and 6 years in prison in a penal colony for leaving the unit without permission during the period of mobilization. This was reported by the press service of the court.
The first mobilized, P., according to the case file, was accused of “wishing to take a break from the performance of relevant duties”, decided to “spend time with his relatives and friends, arbitrarily left the military unit and departed for the place of residence”. It happened on January 8, 2023.
In turn, the mobilized M. left his unit on December 1, 2022, also “wanting to take a break from military service duties.” It is noted that both servicemen, being outside the unit, did not fulfill their "duties" and "spent time at their own discretion." Both men, as stated in the case file, eventually arrived at the military registration and enlistment office after they were informed that search activities were being carried out against them.
Also on June 30, the court heard the case of contract soldier B., who also arbitrarily left his unit. However, he received 3 years probation, taking into account his remorse and the fact that he has five young children dependent on him.
On June 29, the Fokinsky garrison military court in the Primorsky Territory sentenced mobilized Andrey Divisenko to 9 years in a penal colony. He was tried for repeated unauthorized abandonment of the military unit.
