The Russian authorities are trying to solve the problem with a traffic jam at the entrance to Crimea from the Russian Federation. Now, due to inspections of cars before entering the Crimean bridge, a many-kilometer traffic jam has formed. By July 3, it had increased to 13 km.
Several solutions are offered. One of them is to send tourists to Crimea through the new occupied territories of Ukraine. “We need to assess this situation from all points of view, but, of course, use all the possibilities, I agree with this. I have a request to work harmoniously together with all services – with regional, with the transport department, with the Ministry of Emergency Situations, with the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Everything that can be done for citizens must be done,” Putin said.
Minister of Transport Vitaly Savelyev also proposed to involve the military in solving the problem and actually return the practice of ferry crossings to the peninsula – this is how people got to Crimea and back until the construction of the Crimean bridge was completed. Only this time, instead of ferries, they want to involve two large landing ships with a capacity of up to 40 vehicles each.
