Mikhail Lobanov was fired from the post of associate professor of the Mekhmat of Moscow State University due to his status as a foreign agent. Lobanov published the dismissal order in his Telegram channel.
The document is dated July 7 and signed by Vice-Rector Andrey Fedyanin:
“The initiative does not come from the leadership of Moscow State University – the dismissal was the result of rude and unprecedented pressure from outside. I am sure that I will return to teach at my native University after the inevitable transformation of the regime and the abolition of all repressive laws,” Lobanov commented on his dismissal.
Earlier, Lobanov said that two weeks after he was added to the list of foreign agents, he was forced to resign from the university:
“[Rector] Viktor Sadovnichy claims that the university has been given an ultimatum: either you fire Lobanov immediately, or MSU will suffer.”
In December, they came to Lobanov with searches in the case of “fakes” about the Russian army, initiated against Ponomarev. Then the assistant professor was beaten and robbed, after which he was arrested for 15 days. Another search at Lobanov's was carried out in May.
