In Nizhny Novgorod, the son of the deceased journalist Irina Slavina, who had never served, was mobilized. This was told by the daughter of the journalist Margarita Murakhtaeva.

Vyacheslav Murakhtaev was sent a summons stating that he should appear at the military registration and enlistment office on October 14th.

“Did Peskov broadcast that they were not going to carry out the second wave of mobilization? Then why is my brother, who has never served in the army, where he was basically not allowed even of his own free will due to health problems, who is in category B, now receiving a summons? Murakhtaeva wrote.

She said in an interview with DOXA that the summons came only yesterday, and already on October 15 they are going to send her brother to Dzerzhinsk and from there to Kostroma.

He has a two month old baby.

On October 2, 2020, Irina Slavina set herself on fire near the building of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Nizhny Novgorod. Before that, she wrote on her Facebook page: “I ask you to blame the Russian Federation for my death.” The day before, investigators from the Investigative Committee of the ICR conducted a search in the journalist's apartment, during which they seized personal belongings and equipment. It was reported that the search was carried out as part of an investigation into a criminal case on cooperation with Open Russia, in which the journalist was a witness.

Relatives and friends of Slavina sought to open a criminal case on driving the journalist to suicide, but the investigator for especially important cases of the Investigative Committee of the ICR for the Nizhny Novgorod Region, Vladimir Karpukhin, refused them.

In June, the prosecutor's office of the Nizhny Novgorod region legalized the search at Irina Slavina's, after which she committed suicide.
