Iran denies supplying Russia with kamikaze drones for use in the war against Ukraine. CNN writes about it.
According to the publication, this refutation was made during a telephone conversation between Iranian Foreign Ministers Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and his Portuguese counterpart, Joao Gomes Cravinho. The Iranian government said Amir-Abdollahian "once again" stressed that Tehran "has not and will not supply" weapons to Russia for use in the war against Ukraine.
“We believe that assistance in arming any of the parties to the conflict will prolong the war, therefore we did not consider and do not consider wars in Ukraine, Afghanistan, Syria and Yemen to be correct,” CNN quotes the words of the head of the Iranian Foreign Ministry.
At the same time, the Ukrainian side several times reported the use of Iranian drones by Russia. So, in mid-October, the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), citing the Ukrainian Resistance Center, wrote that Russia had deployed Iranian military to the occupied territories, who should train the Russian military in the use of Shahed-136 attack drones. At the same time, the Office of Volodymyr Zelensky announced the shelling of the Kiev region with kamikaze drones:
“Regular strikes of kamikaze drones on critical infrastructure. The relevant services are already working to eliminate and document the consequences of shelling.”
