Former Kommersant journalist and ex-adviser to the head of Roscosmos Ivan Safronov, who was sentenced to 22 years in a strict regime colony in the case of "treason", was transferred from Lefortovo on December 29 to an unknown destination. This was reported by his supporters on February 8 in the Telegram channel "Freedom to Safronov".
The report says that since that moment Safronov has been at the stage where exactly he will serve his sentence is unknown.
They also reported that they took away letters that the Russians sent to Safronov in support of Lefortovo.
“Now he is on the way. As soon as we know where he is, we will redirect them there.”
On December 31, the channel published Safronov's last letter from Lefortovo, written on December 24. In it, he reported that soon he should be handed a "law" and sent by stage to the colony. Where exactly, he didn't know.

Putin's spokesman Dmitry Peskov called the sentence very harsh and argued that if Safronov decided to petition the president for a pardon, he would have to fully admit his guilt.
