The Investigative Committee in Moscow opened a criminal case under the article on insulting the feelings of believers against Nadezhda Tolokonnikova, one of the founders of the Pussy Riot group. This was reported by the head of the human rights organization "Agora" Pavel Chikov.
Chikov published a fragment of the decision, from which it follows that the case was initiated on July 7, 2022. Publications on social networks became the basis for initiating the case; a series of searches were carried out as part of the criminal case, writes Chikov.
Tolokonnikova lives in the USA. In 2012, she, along with other members of the group, Maria Alyokhina and Ekaterina Samutsevich, was convicted for an action in the Cathedral of Christ the Savior in Moscow. Tolokonnikova served 1 year and 10 months in prison in the colonies of Mordovia and the Krasnoyarsk Territory. She was released in December 2013 under an amnesty.
