The leadership of the head office of the FSB is actively checking the version that a drone could have exploded in the building of the Border Guard Department of the FSB of Rostov-on-Don, which shortly before the fire was delivered there by the security forces themselves after being discovered on the territory of the Rostov region. This was reported by Baza, and the information was also confirmed by a source of the Rostov portal "161.ru" in law enforcement agencies.
The intelligence officers who found the UAV decided that it was a reconnaissance drone and took it to the building of the FSB Border Guard on Sievers Street. Probably, the security forces tried to inspect the drone on their own in order to get a recording from a video camera. While dismantling, the UAV exploded, the fire spread to the warehouse of the Border Guard. Three employees dismantling the drone died. According to Baza, the check establishes whether the security forces acted on their own initiative or on orders from the leadership.
The channel also claims that the leadership of the FSB remained dissatisfied with the subordinates from Rostov-on-Don, and the results of the check. It turned out that employees of the Rostov Border Guard Department did not always follow their job descriptions and safety regulations. One of the versions of the explosion, which was first voiced by the local authorities, is “problems with electrical wiring.”
An interlocutor of 161.ru from law enforcement agencies added that the version of the UAV is being worked out by the Moscow commission, which came to Rostov with a check. Traces and fragments of exploding shells were found at the site of the fire.
“It was impossible to drag and store [in the economic building] on Sievers everything that was taken and was,” the source said.
The explosion in the building of the FSB Border Guard in Rostov-on-Don occurred on March 16. Videos of the incident were posted on social media. The governor of the Rostov region, Vasily Golubev, said that the cause of the fire was an electrical short circuit. The fire, in turn, led to explosions of containers with fuel and lubricants. Two walls collapsed. One death was reported at the time, Baza claims the number has risen to three.
