The Change.org website launched a petition urging social networks not to be a tool of censorship and not to block the accounts of public organizations at the request of the Russian authorities.

The petition is addressed to Telegram, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, VKontakte, Yandex, and Google.

According to the authors of the petition, the Russian authorities are trying to subdue the IT giants through fines.

On December 25, Roskomnadzor blocked the OVD-Info website and sent notices demanding that the project’s accounts be blocked to the administration of social networks.
